Torchbearer Skills Centre, Ndu
This project, an offspring of our project -Co-operating Out of
Poverty in Ndu Sub Division, was born on February 9, 2007. This
was a response to the needs of youths, especially young girls,
who came to our local office in Ndu looking for jobs to stay
away from idleness and associated ills. With a seed capital of
32,000 FCFA (US $64)provided by the Torchbearer CO-OP the centre
started crocheting baby clothes and traditional dresses
typical of the grassland areas of Cameroon. The centre will
soon expand to hairdressing, tailoring and knitting. A sewing
machine, zigzag machine, hair dryer and other basic needs have
already been acquired. This centre will promote youth
entrepreneurship with special emphasis on youth and women. Your
support will go a long way to support this centre.
