Many villages and clans in
Cameroon depend on corn fufu as their staple food. The
Wimbum people of Donga/Mantung Division, the Oku people of
Bui Division, the Kom people of Boyo Division are some of
the peoples of Cameroon who depend on corn fufu. Before
modern technology evolved to the level of power generated
(fuel or electricity) grinding meals, the fufu eaters moved
from grinding their grain on the stone to a hand mill. These
means are still used in some remote areas. one on the The
Torchbearer Foundation through its Torches is partnering
with communities to provide community grinders to needy
communities. The Torchbearer Foundation expects beneficiary
communities to fully participate in the realization of the
project, at least, constructing the grinder house. The first
of such projects was realized in March 2005 in Muteff-Abuh. This
project was sponsored by the Branson Hills Assemblies of God
in Missouri, USA. This Church has equally provided funds for
a second grinder in the Boyo Division. Proper
studies are being carried out on the site for the second
grinder to be donated in July 2006.
