The
Torchbearer Foundation organized the
first Christian Community Development
(CCD) Conference in Africa in the year 2000,
in Cameroon. Since then, four other annual conferences have been organized
in 3 cites of Cameroon. These conferences brought together over 700
Christian leaders of Cameroon and some African countries to share and promote the CCD
vision.
General objectives of
the Torchbearer CCD conferences
-
Get together Christian leaders of Cameroon and Africa to share and promote
the vision of CCD.
-
Equip participants with resources to develop ministries that will impact
their environments ö Christians, church leaders, missionaries, and other
Christian ministries to bring spiritual and economic transformation of
their communities in a way as to glorify God's name.
Close
to three hundred participants
from five nations and 16 denominations came together for the 4th annual
Christian Community Development conferences in Cameroon in 2003. These
conferences took place in Ndu (July 27 to August 1) and Yaounde (August 10
to 16) under the theme
"The Supremacy of Scriptures in Christian
Community Development". Participants
were encouraged and challenged to:
-Love the Scriptures
-Learn the Scriptures and
-Live the Scriptures
Participants were blessed
with the teachings of anointed and experienced men and women of God from
Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa and the USA.
