Praise God for the healing process of John Kongor, Torchbearer Executive Director for Cameroon . John is recovering from Typhoid Fever. Pray for complete recovery and energy especially as we face a charge program between now and June.

Saturday, May 3rd.  May the Lord supply the needs for funds to send a container to Torchbearers in Cameroon with the truck, medical supplies/equipment and other needed items.

Our mission is both exciting and challenging -‘train leaders in holistic community development and to enable these leaders to establish an effective and efficient integrated network of Christian discipleship ministry projects that help to transform individuals from the inside out and community development from the bottom up – therefore helping in the campaign by the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole community.’ Pray for all those who have put their hands on the plough in the ministry of the Torchbearer Foundation both in and out of Cameroon .

Spend a moment to pray for a family you know who really needs your plea to God in their hour of need.

Our annual summer programs in Cameroon are coming up in June. Pray that Christ’s love and the power of His Gospel to transform individuals from the inside out and communities from the bottom up will be demonstrated in all conferences, visits and contacts in different communities where these programs will take place.

Using John and Rene as points of contact, pray for wisdom for all those involved in the preparations for the June programs on the ground in Cameroon .

Pray for a peaceful celebration of the 36^th edition of the Cameroon ’s National Day -unitary state, on May 20^th 2008.

Continue to pray   for  the  Torchbearer leadership in  Cameroon  as  they mobilize  those at the grassroots  to  take  initial    responsibilities  for  solving   their  problems

Some Christians in our local churches in Cameroon still cling to some of their traditions that are unbiblical. Pray that God will deliver them from traditional strongholds and syncretism so that they may experience spiritual growth in their Christian lives.

Praise God for the impact of the Torchbearer CO-OP in the lives of torchbearers (and their entire families) and other community members in Cameroon . Pray that God will provide funds to meet expansion needs of the CO-OP in Ndu Sub-Division and replication in seven other sub-divisions –Nkambe, Belo, Fundong, Njinikom, Tubah, Bum and Bankim.

Pray that all our missionaries –coordinators & facilitators; technicians and project managers will cultivate a mindset for duty consciousness, quest for rendering a service to their communities, and accountability in all what they do. Pray also that God will meet the needs of these people and their families.

Ma Helen Niboh of the Njinikijem Torch in Belo has just recovered from malaria attack. Pray for complete healing.

Continue to pray for peace in Zimbabwe where results of presidential and parliamentary  elections conducted since March 29 are not yet published causing tension in that country. Pray that incumbent president Robert Mugabe and the people around him will be God-fearing as they handle the current situation in that country.  Pray that God will help Zimbabwe as a whole resolve this political deadlock through peaceful means. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Pray for the upcoming mission trips to Cameroon in June for Martin Niboh, John Washam, Jerry & Shirley Davis, Charles Zehnder and nursing students from the College of the Ozarks (Branson-Missouri) in the USA .  May the Lord bless them with a deeper understanding of the Torchbearer vision and help them to see where they can join Him in His work in Cameroon .
Pray for the Davises ' daughter, Sara, her husband and their two children as they prepare to move to Ndu in August to serve on the teaching staff at the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary.

Join Jenny Ngoh in praying that God will reveal those He has called to join Him through the Torchbearer Foundation in the work He is doing in Belo Sub-Division in Cameroon .

Pray that as Bulbs (leaders of Torches) lead   their  Torches (Christian Community Development prayer cells)   in  prayer  ,they  will  get more and more  committed  to  community   action.

Join the Faith Torch in Ntungfe in praying that God will use them in mobilizing their community to meet the health needs in their community. Also join the Torches in Afumbom, Mboini of Baingo in praying for solutions to the health and educational needs in their communities

Pray  for  John  and  Rene   as   they  work  with  the coordinators, facilitators and the rest of our grassroots leadership in Cameroon to improve on project  identification, writing, implementation and   evaluation.

Pray  for  the  mobilization  of  at  least  300 participant  at each of the 8  sub-divisional conferences this summer.

Pray  for  the  effective  handling  of ongoing projects and   that facilitators in different communities in Cameroon will come  up  with projects   that   will   continue   to achieve  the  mission  of  Torchbearer  Foundation.

Pray that God will create a thirst for His word in all torchbearers in the different communities in Cameroon and that they will through their lifestyle minister to unbelievers causing them to thirst for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
